‘The most creative trio ever to hold a skipping rope’
Clash Magazine
SKIPtheatre's SKIP HOP JUMP is an interactive performance, which is great for all manner of events, parties, launches and private views. It is accessible to all ages and abilities for events indoors and out!
In Spring 2006, SKIPtheatre decided nightlife in London needed shaking up. Using skipping ropes they created fun and interactive routines to the music of live bands and DJs, which they took straight to the heart of dance floors all over London. Since then they have taken their skipping routines to all manner of unexpected places from clubs, bars, music festivals to mansions in Mayfair. They have even appeared skipping in the Neils Children music video for the single I’m Ill.
SKIP HOP JUMP works best as an intervention without announcement or stage. Three performers dressed in vintage attire charm the crowd with impressive skipping routines using props and music. The audience are encouraged to join the performers jumping in and out of the rope and are whirled back to their playground days. SKIPtheatre then give out free skipping ropes to the crowd and turn a giant rope encouraging as many people to jump in as possible.
